The location is strategic. Easy access to public transportation.
The room is quite small for a double bed (Not much space to move). It's ok if you just use the room to sleep at night.

Small but Satisfactory hotel room - so so experience in other respects
Within walking to Ueno Park and big station there. Quieter less busy hotel. Street front and surrounding area a bit quiet but further from Ueno park and the station there.
Felt I got not the best service. I came back to wait for my room to be ready but they did not tell me and I had been waiting more than 20 minutes in lobby. It was very quiet and two young front desk staff were busy talking continuously to each. I was frustrated as quite tired. My room was apparently ready likely all along but they did not want to let you into room until after 3 pm and I had returned after 3 pm. Staff did not offer an apology until I said you could have told me my room was ready as I had been waiting - and he then apologized but it did not sound sincere that he felt sorry. This hotel is quite slow and it seems they were busy socializing while I was waiting. I got the impression they thought it was amusing there had been a misunderstanding and they had not bothered to tell me the room was ready or greet me when I returned or check in with me as I was sitting in the lobby obviously waiting. I thought this was poor and unprofessional. No onsen at this hotel and room is small but all rooms are small at APA hotels. The location at Ueno park is almost same price. They are very busy but very efficient in checking large volumes of people in. APA hotels are a major brand and you get some consistency but I would recommend staying at the hotel at Ueno station if you have a choice and not this one which does not have an onsen and staff may be a bit young and inexperienced and distracted. On another day another person at This hotel gave me wrong info that as I was leaving Tokyo for 2 days they could not keep my luggage - but I could leave my luggage with the next APA hotel I was going to stay at in 2 days - I tried taking it there but they said they could not accept the luggage even though I would check in within 2 days - this is their policy.
